Akshar Arbol International School is a K-12 international school, offering the International Baccalaureate and Cambridge International programmes, in its two campuses at Chennai.

Akshar is a Sanskrit word that means both “syllable” and “infinite”. Arbol is a Spanish word for “tree”. The confluence of the two is what we stand for – Nurturing Young minds to find themselves, by providing a firm rooting to understanding who we are, so that  reaching out to the infinite growth opportunities can be made possible. The tree also symbolises the growth mindset.

At both our campuses, at T.Nagar and Injambakkam, we begin with the IB Primary Years Programme (Early Learning to Grade 5), continuing to the CAIE Lower Secondary Programme (Grades 6 to 8) and IGCSE (Grades 9 & 10).  At our City campus, the CAIE AS/A (Grades 11 & 12) Levels is the school – finishing programme; while at our Injambakkam campus, the IB Diploma Programme (Grades 11 & 12) is the school-finishing programme. AAIS was the first school at Chennai, authorised to offer the IB Primary Years Programme in 2014 and the only school to offer the PYP in two campuses, at Chennai.

All the programmes are internationally reputed and are accepted for University  admissions both in India and overseas.

Within the first decade of its existence, AAIS has built a strong reputation around the teaching-learning practices that nurture and foster students to explore, think, reflect, create and ultimately find themselves.
