“Remembrance is the only paradise out of which we cannot be driven away”. The memories make us to browse into the chronology of St.Mary’s school. In 1989, a little seed was sown in the soil of sriperumbudur. It was well planted by our beloved founder Rev.Msgr.Fr.John Kottarm and watered regularly by the co-founders Re.Sr.Victoria Peter, Rev.Sr.Mary Sabastine and Rev.Sr.Arokia Mary. From then on Principals and staff members shed their sweat in moulding it, therefore today it has grown into a gigantic tree sheltering thousands of young minds from two and half decades.

“The beauty of a building we look at, is the construction of the foundation”. Certainly the efficient foundation laid by our dedicated souls has sharpened the structure of our school. Good buildings come from good people. So many good and kind hearted people have changed from one block to four blocks with two storey in each block. At present we have many classrooms and laboratories etc.. to improve the studies of the students.

The upgrade helps oneself more effectively deal with changes happening around him to be able to think in a more complex manner than before. Now the seed began to take roots. But it was not without share of trials and turbulences… in 1992 it was raised to the grade of Elementary school. In the year 1994, it was raised to the grade of High School. The roots have ultimately grown into a big tree when our level was elevated to the grade of Higher Secondary School in the year 2003.

In the past years of our stewardship, though things looked grim we were not discouraged or dejected. We spent several sleepless nights not knowing how to cope with the situation, but slowly and steadily a holistic development began to emerge and we quenched our thirst in maintaining discipline and decorum in our school.

The intervening 25 years between 1989 to 2014 have transformed Marians beyond recognition. We felt very proud when our students secured District Ranks in their board examinations. In 2000 – 2001 Dowlath Beevi and in 2005 – 06 Ashwini had got District First in their X public Examination. In the year 2007-2008, Ashwini and Rupesh had got district Second and District third respectively in their XII public Examination. In addition to it, every year we produce centum marks in all the subjects.

The best moments in reading are when we come across something a thought, a feeling, a way of looking at things which we had thought special and particular to us. Such a special joy embraces us when we excelled in sports and games. For past 10 years we retain Zonal level championship in sports. In 2004-05- K.Jeevananthan of XII got First place in National level javelin throw. In 2010-11 Foot ball team got First place in National level match in Goa. In 2010-11-M.Saranya got First place in Discuss throw in international sports against Srilanka. In 2012-13- we got National level Cricket Championship. In 2014-15- we achieved National level championship in Silambam.

At this juncture we are happy to remember that every year students participate in various cultural competitions like dance, singing, eloquence, drama, etc… and brought many prizes. In 2010-2011 our students had brain storming session with Former president Dr.APJ.Abdul Kalam at Rajiv Gandhi institution.

The little sapling began to grow stronger and sturdier year, nurtured by the true spirit of the Marian tradition, trust in God’s providence and support of all the well wishers. The school owes its present prestigious position to the pioneer sisters and teachers who have nourished it with their love and sacrifice, faith and dedication.
